The U20 Hurricanes started the LHL season strong with two wins in three days. Formed from young players from Beaufort Knights, Huskies, and Tornado, they find themselves at the top of the league.

They kicked off the season on Sunday, the 12th, against the newly formed Grand-Ducs. It was a tight game where the Hurricanes gave away a comfortable 3-1 lead after the 1st period. However, lacking in the second and third periods, the game ended in a 4-4 tie. Goals were scored by Albert York, Martin Fleischmann, and Joaquim Nunes. The winner was determined via a penalty shootout, with Charlie Springer scoring a stunning penalty shot, bringing the team in the lead again. Hurricanes goalie Jessie Miguel secured the first win of the season in regular time with a crucial save as the Grand Ducs player couldn't find his way around him.

Two days later, the Hurricanes faced Beaufort, last year's finalists. They knew it would be a tough game with Beaufort's vibrant fans and home advantage. The Hurricanes started strong, taking the lead after 19 seconds by Jan-Eric Valasou. This lasted until the 26th minute when Beaufort equalized. The game went back and forth until Rafael de Moura Mota scored a potential goal of the season in the 32nd minute, dazzling all opponents. 32 seconds later, Isaac Weyders found the back of the net, giving the Hurricanes a 2-goal lead. Ending the second period with a 3-1 lead, the pressure was on the Knights in the last period. The youngsters played smart and scored their 4th goal by Felix Schonckert. Jessie Miguel was the star of the show again, boasting a 0.953 save percentage. Five minutes before the end, the Knights narrowed the gap to 2-4. The game was on its final stretch, and the Hurricanes found themselves in the penalty box. The last three minutes were played 6 on 3, but the Knights couldn't find the back of the net. The youngsters defended every shot, showing team spirit and determination. The Hurricanes won the game 4-2, recording their first-ever win in Beaufort under the floodlights. A game to remember!

The Hurricanes' next game is against last year's LHL champions, Tornado Luxembourg, on the 12th of December.
What a start!
